Is CEC primus inter pares?
The recent controversy where the Chief Election Commissioner recommended the removal of an Election Commissioner has invoked the deep analysis of position and powers of CEC with respect to the other Election Commissioners. On the face of the Article 324(5) might look that he has been given a special privilege, thorough understanding of the history of Indian Constitution denies such a power and reiterates that he is only first among the equals or the primus inter pares.
